Early-Career Registration Fee Waivers for Newport, RI HEAD Meeting
For the second time, thanks to NSF sponsorship, HEAD is able to offer travel support for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers <3 years past PhD. Since this is NSF money, grants may only go to HEAD members at U.S. institutions. For those qualifying individuals in need, these travel grants will be used to waive the registration fee.
To apply for a travel grant, please send a <100 word text proposal to Trish Dobson, of Conference Connection (email@example.com) before May 20, 2011. The subject line of the email MUST read "PROPOSAL FOR HEAD 2011 EARLY-CAREER REGISTRATION FEE WAIVER". This proposal should include the name, full contact information (address, phone number, email address), current research institution and position title (postdoc, junior faculty, etc.) of the proposer. Students should indicate their year in their graduate program whereas post doctoral fellows should include the number of years since their PhD was awarded. The proposal should also describe why funds are needed and whether or not an abstract has already been submitted for presentation at HEAD 2011 by the proposing student/postdoc (note: late abstracts are being accepted through August 5, 2011). It is the expectation that those proposing for the grants are presenting a talk/poster at the HEAD meeting.
We hope to make notifications by mid-June. Eureka Scientific/Conference Connection will be in contact regarding the procedure for registration. Note that the early registration deadline is August 5, 2011 so notifications will be made well before that deadline.
